|Please drive safely through our community! Watch your speed and obey all traffic laws. On Friday, March 11th, 2011 the Board met with the new Chief of Stallings Police, Mike Dummett, and a couple of Stallings patrol officers.
Due to an increase in Speeding and disregard for Stop Signs in our neighborhood, the Board requested an increase in traffic enforcement within our community. Stallings Police Dept. agreed to act on the Board's request and will forthwith start issuing citations within our neighborhood to violators (whether the violators be cut-thru traffic or residents). The Speed Limit is 25 MPH on our streets. With Fines, Court Costs, and increased Insurance Premiums citations could cost hundreds of dollars. Please obey all traffic laws and help keep our community safe for us all.
Also, the Board requested the Police to enforce trespassing violations at the Pool Facility, when closed, and the Playground after dark.

|DO YOUR DOOTY....
Pet owners are required to clean up after their pets on common areas, private streets, sidewalks and neighbors’ lawns. Cleaning up after you pets is just common courtesy as neighbors. The Board has identified areas that have a dog waste problem and we have installed pet waste stations that include waste receptacles and litter bag dispensers. The three stations are located at the golf cart crossing near the playground, on Emerald Lake Drive at the number 8 tee box, and on Three Wood Drive adjacent to the golf cart crossing. Thank you!

The Stallings Parks and Recreational Director will be meeting with Emerald Lake home owners in the spring to gain community support for improving the Fairhaven Park on Stevens Mill Road. Stallings will be applying for a $500,000 government grant for those improvements. Community support is a key indicator of our enthusiasm for this project; so, your attendance is very important.
The Streetscape project is under way. Sidewalks will be installed on the Country Woods East side of Lawyer's Road from Buckingham to the Steven's Mill shopping center. Engineers are planning a crossover from our side of the street to the planned sidewalk.
